Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Bush, the former CEO of athenahealth, we have built a shared health data platform that makes patient information accessible through APIs, embedded components, and direct EHR integrations. We partner with health information exchanges and data networks to aggregate clinical histories, translating complex records into actionable insights at the point of care. The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Data Acquisition team. In this role, you will be a cornerstone of our efforts to collect and normalize high-volume patient data. You will leverage your expertise in Large Language Models and MLOps to design, deploy, and scale solutions that solve real business challenges. By working closely with our software engineering team, you will help us build the infrastructure that connects external health networks to our internal data stores, ensuring that our platform remains both reliable and innovative.
A day in the life
- You will research and develop new machine learning methodologies, creating prototypes to test your innovations and building feedback loops that incorporate human oversight to improve model performance.
- You will design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows, ensuring that our machine learning models are deployed, monitored, and maintained effectively in a production environment.
- You will collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and software engineers to identify opportunities for more cost-effective data collection and normalization, while communicating complex technical findings to the broader team.
Who you are
You are an experienced engineer with a passion for building scalable AI solutions. You communicate clearly in English and thrive in collaborative, remote environments. Your background includes:
- At least 3 years of experience in machine learning, specifically in model development and MLOps, with a proven history of working with Large Language Models.
- Proficiency in Python and a strong command of frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Experience working with Cloud Services and distributed computing environments.
- A strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
