Picture a contractor on a bustling jobsite, phone in hand, snapping photos that capture every detail of the day’s work. Those images flow straight into CompanyCam, a straightforward photo documentation and productivity app built for commercial and home-services pros. Our platform turns scattered snapshots into clear records that strengthen trust between crews and clients, and behind the scenes a small, remote-first engineering team works to make that experience feel effortless.
The opportunity
We’re searching for a senior Machine Learning Engineer who will help us turn millions of daily jobsite photos into structured, actionable understanding. You’ll join a compact ML group that punches above its weight, owning computer-vision projects from first data pass to live production. Your models will power image classification, document detection, segmentation, and multimodal embeddings that serve more than seventy thousand projects each day, giving contractors insights they can count on.
A day in the life
- You design, train, and ship computer-vision models that balance accuracy, speed, and cost, then monitor them once they’re in the hands of real users.
- You steer the entire pipeline-cleaning data, choosing architectures, running experiments, and standing up reliable inference services-so models keep learning with little manual upkeep.
- You run focused discovery work to test what’s feasible, share clear trade-offs with product and engineering partners, and decide whether to build in-house or lean on vendor tools.
Who you are
You bring at least three years of experience moving machine-learning models from notebook to production, and you’re comfortable guiding projects from raw images all the way to measurable impact. You have hands-on skill with image classification, segmentation, and object detection, and you write clean Python using PyTorch or TensorFlow along with modern transformer and CNN designs. Strong SQL, data-analysis habits, and fluency with Git keep your work organized and reproducible. You explain technical choices in plain language to teammates across the company, and you live and work permanently in the United States.
Experience with embeddings, on-device deployment, experiment-tracking platforms, or cloud ML services is helpful but not required. What matters most is a steady, humble approach to hard problems and a genuine wish to see your work improve life on real jobsites.
Why you'll love it here
This full-time remote role offers a salary between $220,000 and $250,000 per year, along with meaningful equity. You’ll collaborate with colleagues spread across every U.S. time zone, set your own rhythm, and know that your contributions directly shape tools used by tens of thousands of contractors. We value clear outcomes over busywork, continuous learning over credentials, and a culture where people treat one another with respect.
