Machine Learning Engineer at Refuel

Founded in 2021 by veterans from companies like Facebook and Cloudera, our mission is to accelerate the time it takes to bring ML models to production. We focus on unstructured data, such as video, audio, and text, helping teams overcome high labeling costs and inefficient feedback loops. We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role that offers you the chance to shape our core technology while working alongside a talented group backed by investors like General Catalyst and XYZ Ventures.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core machine learning algorithms for our platform, focusing on areas like active learning, representation learning, and outlier detection in high-dimensional spaces.
• Stay current with the latest research in content understanding and apply cutting-edge deep learning models to address real-world customer challenges.
• Collaborate with our design and engineering teams to identify product improvements, scale our infrastructure, and mentor new team members as we grow.

Requirements

• Significant experience building and deploying machine learning applications that process unstructured data like video, text, or images.
• Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative, idea-driven environment.
• A genuine interest in the early-stage startup journey and building a company from the ground up.
• Bonus points for experience with the AWS machine learning stack or a background in published research at academic conferences or journals.
