We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team and help us transform the insurance industry by building models that assess business risk. At Kalepa, we use diverse data sources like satellite imagery and web analytics to generate unique insights, and we are backed by top-tier investors like IA Ventures and Inspired Capital.

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end process of framing, developing, and deploying machine learning models at scale.
Transform complex structured and unstructured data into actionable intelligence regarding business behavior and risk.
Bridge the gap between data science and software engineering to ensure models perform effectively in production environments.
Collaborate with a global, high-performing team to solve challenging problems in a massive industry.

Must-haves

At least 3 years of professional experience in engineering and data science.
Strong proficiency in Python and its primary data science libraries.
Deep understanding of applied machine learning algorithms, with a specific focus on NLP and statistics.
Proven ability to deploy models into production systems.
A proactive mindset that focuses on overcoming obstacles and finding the right technical solutions.
Fluency in English and a commitment to open, respectful communication.

Nice-to-haves

Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure.
Practical background in data engineering and advanced data analytics.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $72,000 – $96,000 USD.
