Welcome to Machina Labs. Founded in 2019 by veterans of the aerospace and automotive industries, we are a Los Angeles-based company focused on building the software-defined factories of the future. By combining artificial intelligence with advanced robotics, we create modular manufacturing solutions that allow for rapid product reconfiguration. We are currently developing the first commercial robotic sheet metal forming machine, and our work is supported by major industry leaders like NVIDIA, Innovation Endeavors, and Lockheed Martin. We are looking for passionate individuals to help us push the boundaries of what is possible in manufacturing.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. This is a mid-level position for someone who wants to be an early member of a growing team. You will have significant ownership over our product, helping us transform how aerospace and automotive industries manufacture parts by predicting process parameters and enabling smarter, faster production.
What will you do?
- Collaborate with our engineering team to identify and execute opportunities for machine learning automation and predictive modeling across our entire product suite.
- Conduct data mining to uncover impactful insights, then develop, train, and deploy models that solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
- Build and maintain robust pipelines to support parallel model execution in production, while creating monitoring tools to track data quality and system performance.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should be a skilled software developer with a strong background in Python and a passion for applying data-driven techniques to complex physical systems. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess a deep understanding of software design and scaling.
- A degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with machine learning systems, including deep learning and time series analysis.
- Experience with ETL processes, data warehouses, and big data platforms like Spark or Hadoop.
- A history of working in startup or early-stage product development environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Proficiency in data cleaning, testing, and maintaining neural networks.
What's in it for you?
Joining Machina Labs means becoming a key part of a team backed by industry giants. We offer the opportunity to work on cutting-edge Deep Tech that has a tangible impact on how the world builds products.
