LOCATION: Peachtree Corners, GA
PURPOSE:
Supporting the Director, Licensing, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination of development and maintenance of licensing submittals in support of interfaces with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and other regulatory authorities to achieve Certificates of Compliance or associated amendments/authorizations for NAC International cask systems and related hardware technologies in an efficient and timely manner.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The incumbent is responsible for organizing and maintaining information necessary to meet or surpass NRC requirements related to the efficient and timely licensing of NAC casks and hardware.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As delegated by the Director, Licensing, perform reviews of project plans, specifications, procedures, design specifications and design and licensing drawings, including changes to these documents through NAC’s Document Control Review (DCR) process.
- Perform a thorough review of licensing documents for quality and accuracy prior to a submittal to regulatory agencies.
- Prepare letters and responses for submittal to regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate and manage the preparation and maintenance of SARs (including SARPs, FSARs, TSARs, etc.) and Amendment documents and/or pages.
- Facilitate licensing interactions with the Site and Transportation Services business unit staff.
- Prepare, check, manage and control NAC 10 CFR 72.48 determinations as required by the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Provide assistance in the performance reviews of NAC QA documents (i.e., Quality Category Assessments, Q-Lists, NAC fabrication documents, Nonconformance Reports, Vendor Nonconformance Reports, 10 CFR 72.48 evaluations, etc.)
- Ensure regular and timely communication of status of all licensing-related efforts/issues to the Director, Licensing.
- Provide assistance in conducting monthly Users Group Conference calls and other communications.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors’ degree in engineering or a related field required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the nuclear industry preferred. Experience in U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) activities with familiarity with licensing activities involving 10 CFR Part 50, 52, 71 and/or 72 desired.
- Strong interpersonal, editorial and written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Self-starter, independent worker.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to articulate clearly and conduct oral presentations in English.
- Ability to view video display terminal images < 18” away from face for extended period of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
- Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds.
