Role at a glance
We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a mid-level position where you will work remotely from anywhere in Canada. You will play a vital role in ensuring our operations remain compliant while supporting our rapid growth in the financial technology sector.
Your impact
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks and provide strategic legal guidance across commercial, regulatory, privacy, and product development areas.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts while managing external legal partnerships to protect our interests.
- Develop and implement streamlined processes to enhance legal workflows and ensure our policies remain transparent and compliant.
What you'll need
- A Bachelor of law degree or Juris Doctorate with active provincial bar membership.
- At least 4 years of experience working in a law firm or as in-house counsel in Canada.
- Strong expertise in corporate law, commercial law, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
