The role

We are looking for a Lead Typescript Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position based in Germany, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product concepts and technical strategy. You will work in a hybrid environment, balancing collaboration in our Berlin or Heidelberg offices with the flexibility of remote work.

Core responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to our engineering team, fostering a culture of high-quality code, architectural excellence, and continuous knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with designers, backend engineers, and product leads to translate complex business challenges into scalable, performant system designs.
• Maintain a hands-on approach by prototyping new features and improving our infrastructure across our entire stack, including our React Native mobile app, Next.js web application, and Node.js/Express backend.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in modern web development and a passion for building consumer-facing products. We look for the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of professional experience working with TypeScript and a deep understanding of JavaScript fundamentals.
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with React, including a solid grasp of its internal workings.
• At least 3 years of experience building production-grade backends using Node.js and Express.
• Experience or a strong interest in React Native and Next.js.
• A product-minded approach with the ability to communicate technical vision clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with our broader toolset, including Tailwind, Jest, Cypress, and GitHub Actions.
