At dYdX you will help build the world’s leading decentralized exchange for advanced crypto trading. Our team, founded by an ex-Coinbase and ex-Uber engineer with a Princeton CS background, includes alumni from Coinbase, Uniswap, Google, Amazon, Lyft, and Meta, and is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Polychain Capital, Brian Armstrong, Fred Ehrsam, Naval Ravikant, and Elad Gil. We are now hiring a Lead Trading Infrastructure Engineer to join us full time on-site in the United States and shape the next generation of decentralized financial technology.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale the decentralized matching engine, risk system, and limit order book for our blockchain protocol using CosmosSDK and its surrounding backend systems.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to the engineering team, helping navigate architecture decisions, timelines, and other tradeoffs.
- Champion engineering excellence by guiding architecture choices, conducting code reviews, and driving improvements in performance, testing, and overall efficiency.
Requirements
- At least eight years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- Hands-on experience developing trading systems at a mid- or high-frequency trading firm, including order entry and low-latency feed handlers, or equivalent work on exchange infrastructure covering low-latency order intake, risk checks, and matching.
- Strong proficiency in a systems programming language, solid network programming knowledge, and deep understanding of distributed systems and software architectures.
- Excellent coding skills, strong computer science fundamentals, and proven debugging ability, along with the capacity to learn new technologies quickly.
What we offer
The salary range for this role is $230K to $305K USD. Compensation is subject to experience and location and does not include possible variable compensation such as annual merit increases, bonus eligibility, commission, or equity incentive.
