The role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Writer to join our team on a full-time basis. You will play a pivotal role in shaping how users interact with our general-purpose humanoid robots, which are designed to work alongside humans and navigate human spaces. This is a leadership position where you will report to the Director of Product and guide our documentation strategy for both current and future robotic systems.

Core responsibilities

• Take ownership of the technical documentation roadmap to ensure our users have clear, actionable guidance.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, succinct documentation for our humanoid robots and their supporting infrastructure.
• Partner closely with our engineering and marketing departments to translate complex product features and technical functions into accessible user-facing content.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should have a demonstrated history of creating developer and user-oriented documentation within technical fields like robotics. We value candidates who can distill complex engineering information into clear instructions while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience using Markdown or reStructuredText for documentation.
• A proven ability to collaborate with engineers to refine content, improve user interface design, and create effective illustrations or diagrams.
• A track record of making decisions in uncertain environments, prioritizing velocity and user feedback.
• Experience leading or guiding teams, including internal staff or contract writers, is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with tools such as Adobe products or Figma is a plus.
