Jackpocket is transforming the $300B global lottery market by making it fun, convenient, and secure for everyone to order official state lottery tickets like Powerball and Mega Millions right from their phones. We are the first mobile lottery app in the U.S., and we are looking for someone to help us modernize this industry while ensuring our platform remains accessible and reliable for all our users.
Role at a glance
We are searching for a Lead Software Engineer to join our Fulfillment Tech Team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position open to candidates located anywhere, and you will play a key role in scaling our infrastructure as we expand into new markets and launch exciting new products.
Your impact
- Drive the architectural evolution of our systems while ensuring they remain stable and capable of scaling to meet our rapid growth.
- Collaborate closely with product teams, retailers, and fulfillment operations to turn complex requirements into high-quality features.
- Take full ownership of major initiatives, from the initial scoping phase all the way through to final execution and deployment.
What you'll need
- At least 5 years of experience working as a software engineer on highly scalable systems.
- Strong technical proficiency with Elixir and Liveview.
- Hands-on experience building resilient, event-driven systems using tools like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Deep knowledge of functional programming, architectural design, and RDBMS concepts like Postgres and SQL.
- A proven ability to diagnose live system issues, trace errors, and manage concurrency in multi-threaded environments.
- Fluency in English and a collaborative mindset for working across different teams.
Perks and compensation
The base salary range for this position is $155,000 - $170,000. We also offer the following benefits:
