The Mission
We're seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Merchant domain team, where you'll build and enhance the experiences for merchants on the Scalapay platform. Reporting to Beder, our Engineering Manager, you'll help meet growing market demand for our BNPL solutions by creating tools and features that empower our merchant partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of innovative merchant-facing products and experiences on the Scalapay platform. You'll create scalable solutions that help merchants seamlessly integrate, manage, and optimize their BNPL offerings. Working in an autonomous, Agile environment, you'll have end-to-end ownership of projects while collaborating with and mentoring a talented engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the Merchant domain team
- Design and build merchant-facing features and tools that enhance the Scalapay platform experience
- Develop responsive, intuitive front-end interfaces for merchant dashboards and management tools
- Create clean, well-structured RESTful APIs that connect merchant systems with our core platform
- Drive innovation in merchant onboarding, integration, and management workflows
- Mentor engineers and establish best practices for full-stack development
- Ensure quality through troubleshooting, testing, and automation
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver exceptional merchant experiences
- Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong expertise in JavaScript, Node.js, relational databases, and CI/CD tooling
- Proficiency in React and modern front-end frameworks like Next.js
- Experience with modern front-end development practices (responsive design, state management, performance optimization)
- Proven experience leading software and QA engineering teams
- Passion for software design best practices and clean code
- Track record of successful project delivery
- Experience building B2B platforms or merchant-facing solutions preferred
