At amo, we are building technology designed to handle massive scale, and we are preparing for a significant surge in traffic. Our mission is to ensure our systems remain performant and reliable under intense pressure, with a relentless focus on minimizing latency. We operate as a unified engineering team where automation is our primary tool for efficiency, and we are looking for someone to help us push our infrastructure to its absolute limits.
The role
We are seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in France. This is a senior-level position where you will work closely with our founding team to take ownership of critical system components. You will act as a software engineer first, building the tools and pipelines that allow us to move quickly and maintain high-quality services.
Core responsibilities
- Design and maintain high-throughput distributed databases, such as ScyllaDB, while managing monitoring infrastructure capable of handling over one million series per second.
- Drive radical automation across the board, from cluster management and database installations to advanced Kubernetes autoscaling, to maximize CPU efficiency and reduce manual toil.
- Partner directly with our backend software engineers to build robust CI/CD pipelines and deploy new features, ensuring that our infrastructure supports rapid company growth.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong foundation in system architecture and software development. We look for the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in at least one low-level language, specifically Rust or Go.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP.
- A solid background in implementing and managing monitoring and alerting systems.
- A collaborative mindset with a proven track record of working alongside backend teams to achieve shared technical objectives.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Compensation and benefits
We are committed to providing a supportive environment for our team members. Our benefits package includes:
- Full coverage for medical insurance.
- Comprehensive paid time off, including two dedicated company-wide shutdowns per year.
- 100% reimbursement for your daily commute.
- Full relocation assistance for international candidates, including visa sponsorship, temporary housing, support with French administrative paperwork, and language lessons.
How to apply
If you are passionate about building highly reliable, large-scale systems and want to help us shape the future of our platform, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to join our team in our central Paris office.
