Skydio stands at the forefront of the drone industry as the premier United States manufacturer and a global leader in autonomous flight technology. Our team integrates advanced artificial intelligence with high-performance hardware and software to support a wide range of users, including first responders, utility providers, and insurance professionals. We are currently seeking a Lead Product Manager to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis to oversee our Drone as First Responder (DFR) software suite, which encompasses our vehicle, controller, and cloud platforms.
Key outcomes
- Take full ownership of our DFR product line, working closely with engineering and go-to-market teams to achieve our financial and growth objectives.
- Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders to identify critical pain points and develop effective solutions for emergency response workflows.
- Apply your technical expertise in cloud-connected devices and enterprise management to design and launch high-value features.
- Oversee the complete customer journey, from cloud administration and real-time drone operations to flight logging and media management.
- Collaborate with platform product managers to establish the product roadmap, define requirements, and track performance metrics.
- Partner with our integrations team to build a top-tier ecosystem for public safety clients.
- Lead cross-functional teams to resolve in-market challenges and maintain the reliability of our platform.
- Drive successful product launches by enabling our go-to-market strategy.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in defining and delivering complex enterprise-grade solutions that include both backend administrative controls and end-user interfaces.
- A background in engineering or a related technical field that allows you to engage in deep technical discussions and evaluate complex trade-offs.
- A customer-centric mindset with a proven history of working directly with users to solve operational problems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information for executive leadership, external partners, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated ability to perform market analysis and utilize data to inform strategic decision-making.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Professional experience with drones, flight interfaces, or specific DFR software offerings.
- Background in real-time operations software or work within real-time crime centers.
- Direct experience in public safety or working extensively with public safety agencies as customers.
- Experience with intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) for federal agencies.
- Expertise in the enterprise drone market.
- Practical experience flying drones or working in crewed flight operations.
Compensation
The annual base salary for this role is $160,000 - $200,000. Final compensation is determined based on individual skill level, experience, and regional factors. In addition to the base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including equity compensation, medical insurance, and paid time off.
