We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. Solace is a mission-driven healthcare advocacy marketplace that connects patients and families with the experts they need to navigate the complexities of the U.S. healthcare system. As a Series B startup founded in 2022 and backed by prominent investors like Inspired Capital and Craft Ventures, we are working to ensure that patients can make informed decisions to achieve better health outcomes. In this role, you will serve as our internal DevOps expert, taking full ownership of our infrastructure strategy and the tools that empower our product engineers to build with speed and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Architect and manage our infrastructure roadmap, focusing on the evolution of our CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and overall developer workflows.
- Lead the migration of our systems from Heroku to AWS, ensuring a seamless transition that maintains high reliability and observability.
- Design and implement automated systems, including ephemeral testing environments, to remove friction and enable our engineering team to focus on writing application code.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering, ideally within a fast-paced startup environment.
- Deep technical expertise in AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, and CloudFormation, along with a proven ability to manage production environments.
- Strong proficiency in automation and scripting using tools like Python, Node, and Terraform.
- Prior experience leading migrations from PaaS solutions like Heroku to IaaS providers.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate complex infrastructure tradeoffs clearly to the wider team.
