Lead Mechanical Engineer at Quooker

At Quooker, we take pride in the fact that we design, build, and maintain our own machinery entirely in-house. We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the Netherlands. In this hybrid role, you will balance technical engineering tasks with project management responsibilities, ensuring our production environment remains at the cutting edge of technology. You will work within an engineering department of 11 professionals, collaborating closely with our Industrial Automation and Tooling teams to bring innovative ideas to life.

Key outcomes

• Manage machine building projects from start to finish, including defining requirements and conducting risk assessments.
• Create functional, feasible machine designs using 3D CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
• Oversee the technical documentation and ensure seamless integration between mechanical designs and mechatronics or PLC systems.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage project-related procurement, and report on overall progress.
• Review technical drawings for manufacturability and provide expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor fellow engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.

Requirements

• A completed HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Eight to ten years of experience as a mechanical designer within the machine building industry.
• Proven proficiency in 3D design software, with a strong preference for SolidWorks.
• Extensive experience in a project lead or project management capacity within a technical environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent command of both the Dutch and English languages.
