About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Game Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will report to the Wordscapes business GM and take charge of the design vision for our most popular game. You will be responsible for driving innovation and community engagement by designing high-quality features and live operations services that resonate with our massive player base.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and champion a cohesive design vision for Wordscapes while staying current on industry best practices for free-to-play games.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of designers, facilitating brainstorming sessions and fostering an inclusive culture for idea-sharing.
- Analyze player feedback and performance data to refine game designs, ensuring a balance between impactful business results and player satisfaction.
Requirements
To succeed in this position, you should have a strong background in mobile game development and a passion for creating engaging user experiences. Our requirements include:
- At least 8 years of professional experience in game design, with at least 5 of those years focused on the mobile-casual, free-to-play genre.
- A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, including direct experience managing or mentoring junior designers.
- Proven ability to design and launch successful features within a live mobile game environment.
- Professional proficiency with Unity and version control systems.
- A high degree of accountability and ownership regarding the quality of your design work.
Location
This is a remote position. Eligible candidates must reside in one of the following states: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, or Washington State.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive total compensation package, with an expected base salary range of $120,000 to $175,000. Your actual compensation will be determined based on your unique skills, experience, and market location. In addition to base pay, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:
