The role
We are looking for a Senior Lead Game Designer to join us on a full-time, remote basis. In this role, you will be the primary architect for the design and evolution of core gameplay systems for our upcoming project. We need a data-driven leader who can navigate the complexities of game balancing, live operations, and economy tuning to foster long-term player engagement.
Core responsibilities
- Lead the design and iteration of core gameplay mechanics to ensure they are engaging, deep, and scalable for our growing player base.
- Direct our live operations strategy by managing seasonal content, balance updates, and live events that maximize player retention.
- Utilize player telemetry, A/B testing, and analytics to make informed design decisions that improve the overall user experience and game balance.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this position, you should have a strong background in game design and a passion for building online experiences. Our ideal candidate brings the following qualifications:
- At least 7 years of professional game design experience, specifically with shipped titles in the live-service space such as MMOs, RPGs, or strategy games.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL for querying game data and extensive experience using spreadsheets for complex balancing tasks.
- A deep understanding of in-game economies, progression systems, and the ability to design sustainable models for online play.
- Proven leadership skills with a history of mentoring design teams and collaborating effectively across engineering, art, and marketing departments.
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of using data to refine game systems and drive player engagement.
- Fluency in English.
