At Marigold Health, we believe that everyone deserves a place to feel truly heard. We are on a mission to transform mental health and substance use recovery by building an asynchronous-first platform where peers-individuals with lived experience-support one another through anonymous chat groups and 1-1 coaching. Our technology, which includes proprietary natural language processing, allows us to scale this vital support across phone, SMS, and web. We are currently scaling our Version 3.0 product and are looking for a passionate engineering leader to help us ensure our platform remains reliable, secure, and impactful as we grow.
The opportunity
As our Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology. You will oversee our codebase and lead a distributed team of talented engineers, ensuring that our software not only meets high standards of quality but also serves the complex needs of our users. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will balance technical strategy with day-to-day execution, working closely with our product, data science, and clinical operations teams to deliver a platform that saves lives.
A day in the life
- Technical Leadership: You will provide expert guidance across our full stack, including TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js, while ensuring our infrastructure remains robust through tools like Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strategic Oversight: You will manage project delivery, set engineering sprints, and mentor our distributed team to ensure we meet our goals while maintaining high standards for code quality and security.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work synchronously with our international engineering team and collaborate with our product and design leads to turn complex healthcare challenges into accessible, user-centric features.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer with 4 to 9 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a lead role where you successfully managed team output. You thrive in remote environments and have a proven ability to coordinate with team members across different time zones. Your technical toolkit includes deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js. You are comfortable navigating the unique demands of healthcare technology, and experience with regulatory frameworks like HIPAA or NIST is a significant plus. Above all, you are a proactive communicator who is motivated by our mission and eager to foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
