About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will lead, inspire, and scale our Site Integration and Platform Engineering team. You will balance hands-on technical contributions with leadership responsibilities, acting as a scrum master for a team of 4 to 6 engineers. This position is a vital part of our engineering organization, where you will influence our technology stack and collaborate closely with product managers and other leaders to drive our technical strategy forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a distributed team of 4 to 6 engineers, fostering professional growth while overseeing the design and maintenance of high-performing, scalable software systems.
- Drive technical strategy by evaluating new technologies and ensuring our engineering efforts remain aligned with broader company objectives.
- Monitor system reliability and performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and process evolution.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 6 years of experience in cloud software development, including time spent in a team lead or management capacity within an Agile environment.
- Strong expertise in microservice architecture, distributed systems, and horizontal scalability.
- Proficiency in Ruby and a foundational understanding of JavaScript (Node.js).
- Experience with web scraping and browser automation tools such as Puppeteer or Playwright.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field is considered a plus.
Location
This position is based in our Bengaluru office. While the role is primarily in-office, we offer a hybrid work model that provides flexibility to accommodate collaboration with our North American and European colleagues.
