About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will guide and scale our Site Integration and Platform Engineering team. You will balance hands-on technical contributions with leadership responsibilities, acting as a scrum master for a group of 4 to 6 engineers. You will work closely with our Head of Platform Engineering and product managers to influence our technology stack and ensure we meet our ambitious engineering goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a distributed team of 4 to 6 engineers, fostering professional growth while overseeing the design and development of scalable software systems.
- Drive technical strategy by evaluating new technologies and aligning engineering efforts with our broader company objectives.
- Maintain high standards for system performance and reliability by monitoring key indicators and continuously improving our engineering processes.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should have the following qualifications:
- At least 6 years of experience in cloud software development, with a proven track record in a team lead or management capacity within an Agile environment.
- Strong expertise in microservice architecture, distributed systems, and API-oriented design.
- Proficiency in Ruby and a foundational understanding of JavaScript (Node.js).
- Experience with browser automation tools such as Puppeteer or Playwright, as well as web scraping techniques.
- Solid grasp of DevOps principles and the ability to communicate effectively across global teams.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field is considered a plus.
Location
This position is based in our Bengaluru office. We operate on a hybrid model, requiring you to be in the office at least 3 days a week, though we offer flexibility to accommodate our North American and European team members.
