At Scope3, we are on a mission to tackle one of the most urgent challenges of our time: the climate crisis. By mapping the complex digital advertising supply chain, we empower brands to measure and slash digital waste, effectively reducing carbon emissions while boosting investment performance. We are a rapidly growing, well-funded team of 100 people distributed across the globe, backed by major investors like GV. If you are looking to build meaningful technology alongside a group of industry veterans who helped shape the modern digital advertising landscape, you have found your next home.
Role at a glance
We are seeking a Lead Engineer to join our platform team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position open to candidates based in the US, Canada, UK, France, or Germany. Your impact
- Shape the technical architecture and long-term vision for our core emissions measurement API, which serves as the backbone for our customer-facing products.
- Lead the development of our real-time data systems, ensuring they can handle massive global scale while maintaining sub-5ms latency.
- Establish high engineering standards across the organization, with a specific focus on writing maintainable, performant, and scalable Golang code.
What you'll need
We are looking for a seasoned engineer who thrives in high-throughput environments and communicates effectively in English. You should bring the following to the table:
- At least 8 years of professional experience building real-time, low-latency, and high-throughput systems.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience serving in a technical lead capacity.
- Expert-level proficiency in Golang.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure, specifically Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
- Bonus points if you have experience with TypeScript, a background in ad-tech or climate tech, or a history of success within globally distributed remote startups.
Perks and compensation
We believe in hiring great people and supporting them with a flexible, modern work environment. Our benefits include:
- A fully remote work environment.
- Flexible working hours to accommodate our distributed team.
- The opportunity to work within a truly global, asynchronous culture.
