Lead Engine Programmer at Ramen VR

We are searching for a Lead Engine Programmer to join our team on a full-time basis. At Ramen VR, we are dedicated to solving the most complex challenges in game development. After creating the number one VR game, Zenith: The Last City, and securing over 40 million dollars in funding from top-tier investors, we are currently working in stealth on a new product that will shape the future of the industry. Our team is a unique blend of talent from AAA studios, major tech companies, and independent backgrounds, all united by the belief that developers have the power to change the world. You will take ownership of battle-tested technology and lead the development of internal tools and user-generated content systems for an unannounced project.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain high-performance engine systems while working closely with the metal to ensure our tools are powerful and efficient.
• Navigate ambiguity and shifting product priorities as we iterate on new concepts and test innovative ideas.
• Lead and inspire our technical team, leveraging your experience to elevate the performance and output of everyone around you.

Requirements

We are looking for a seasoned leader who has successfully shipped significant projects in the past, perhaps as a founder or a lead engineer. You should possess a deep understanding of engine architecture and the following qualifications:

• Expert-level proficiency in low-level C/C++, with a focus on large codebases, multi-threaded programming, and job systems.
• Strong background in CPU optimization, profiling, and memory management.
• A comprehensive, full-stack grasp of engine architecture, spanning from the rendering pipeline to the scripting layer.
• An intuitive sense for product design, demonstrated by your history of delivering successful software.
• Bonus points for experience with graphics programming, multiplayer backend services, or integrating LLM APIs.
