At Ramen VR, we believe that game developers have the power to change the world. We are the team behind the successful VR MMO Zenith: The Last City, and we have raised over 40 million dollars to help us tackle the most difficult challenges in game development. Our team is a unique blend of talent from major tech companies and AAA gaming studios, and we are currently building tools that will shape the future of the industry. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for creating new realities to join us as we develop our latest project, Aura, an AI agent designed to assist with Unreal Engine implementation and debugging.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Lead Engine Programmer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a high-level role for an experienced engineer who is comfortable working close to the metal. Because our team is small, you will have a significant amount of autonomy and responsibility. We are looking for someone who has a track record of shipping significant products, perhaps as a founder or a founding engineer, to lead the development of our new AI-driven engine tools.
What will you do?
- Take the lead on the development of Aura, our innovative AI agent for Unreal Engine that helps developers with C++ and Blueprint implementation.
- Navigate ambiguous product requirements and shifting priorities as we test new concepts and build the next generation of developer tools.
- Apply your expertise in low-level systems to ensure our engine architecture is optimized for performance and scalability.
What makes you a great fit?
You should be an expert in C and C++ with a deep understanding of large codebases and multi-threaded programming. We value candidates who have a full-stack grasp of engine architecture, ranging from rendering layers to scripting. You should have a proven ability to lead and inspire technical teams, along with an intuitive sense for what makes a product successful. While not required, we would love to see experience with Unreal Engine, LLM APIs, graphics programming, or multiplayer backend services. You must be fluent in English to collaborate effectively with our global team.
What's in it for you?
We provide a supportive environment where you can make a real, tangible impact on our products. Our benefits package includes:
- Remote work flexibility.
- Unlimited vacation time, including special time off for major game launches.
- Comprehensive medical insurance for you and your dependents.
- 401k retirement plans.
- Annual tech stipends to keep your setup current.
- All-expenses-paid company retreats to travel and work with the team in person.
