At Branch Care, we are driven by a singular mission to make fertility care accessible to everyone. We are building a future where science and technology empower families, starting by bridging the gap between patients and their OB/GYNs. As an incubation of AlleyCorp, we benefit from the expertise behind successful ventures like MongoDB and Nomad Health. We are currently tackling the critical shortage of reproductive endocrinologists in the United States by creating a tech-enabled network that improves patient outcomes and expands access to fertility services nationwide.
The role
We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a high-impact, hybrid position for an experienced professional who is ready to shape our data strategy from the ground up. You will start as an individual contributor with the potential to evolve into a leadership role as our organization expands. This is a unique chance to apply advanced analytical insights to real-world patient challenges while helping us build the future of reproductive medicine.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and refine algorithmic approaches to support clinical decision-making, with an initial focus on optimizing medication timing and dosage for fertility cycles.
- Build, test, and deploy machine learning models while proactively addressing data quality challenges like missing information and class imbalance.
- Partner closely with our clinicians, product managers, and engineers to translate complex data findings into scientifically grounded product features.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in both technical execution and collaborative research. We require the following qualifications:
- An advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Expertise in applied statistics, including hypothesis testing, distribution evaluation, and correlation analysis.
- High proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Deep knowledge of machine learning techniques such as Random Forests, SVM, Naive Bayes, and k-NN.
- A proven track record of collaborating with product teams and clinicians to bring data-driven solutions to market.
Compensation and benefits
We offer a salary range of $160,000 to $180,000, determined by your specific experience, certifications, and skill set. In addition to your base pay, you will receive:
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in our success.
- A comprehensive medical insurance and wellness package.
- The flexibility of a hybrid work model, allowing for both remote and in-office collaboration.
How to apply
If you are passionate about using data to solve complex healthcare problems and want to help us increase access to fertility care, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to join our mission-driven team as we work to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients across the country.
