We are Typeform, a company that transforms how businesses collect information through engaging, conversational forms, surveys, and quizzes. With over 150,000 customers and 500 million responses processed annually, we are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to help us turn data into our most valuable asset while supporting teams across Product, Marketing, and Customer Success.
Responsibilities
- Manage the near-real-time movement of data between our internal systems, external tools, and our Data Lake.
- Design and build the robust information technology infrastructure that powers our entire Data Team.
- Develop scalable architectural solutions alongside fellow engineers to maintain our Data Lake.
- Lead the rollout of new data services and systems across the organization.
- Work closely with program managers and system architects to ensure mission-critical data reaches the right stakeholders.
- Build services that provide an immediate, positive impact on our customers and business operations.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior members of the team.
Must-haves
- At least 4 years of professional experience in Data Engineering.
- Hands-on experience working with event-driven architectures using Kafka.
- Proficiency in Scala, Python, and SQL for building data pipelines.
- Experience with modern cloud data warehouses such as AWS Redshift, GCP, Azure Synapse, or Snowflake.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a passion for mentoring others.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Apache Spark for both batch and streaming processes.
- Familiarity with job orchestrators like Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, Flyte, Prefect, or Dagster.
- Experience working with dbt.
