We are building a future where color science and imaging technology empower our creators to bring their most ambitious visions to life with perfect consistency and breathtaking quality.
The role
We are looking for a Lead Color and Imaging Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. - Collaborate directly with software developers and technical directors to integrate sophisticated color management features into our animation pipeline, focusing on efficiency and compatibility.
- Partner with production teams to solve complex color challenges, from initial concept stages through to final delivery, while staying at the forefront of emerging image formats and video codecs.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in color science and a passion for animation technology. We require the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, Color Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 8 years of experience in animation production, with a specific focus on rendering, image processing, and color management.
- Expertise in color science principles such as spectral imaging, color models, and color perception.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and C++, specifically regarding the development of color processing algorithms and the integration of libraries like OpenEXR and Quicktime.
- Deep familiarity with industry-standard tools and libraries, including OCIO, OIIO, OpenCV, ACES, and ICC.
- Experience with high-end workflows like HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, alongside working knowledge of grading tools such as Nuke, Resolve, or Baselight.
- The ability to communicate technical strategies clearly to both engineering teams and non-technical studio leadership.
Compensation and benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $185,000. The final offer will be determined based on your unique expertise, qualifications, and geographic location. We are committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance and offer hybrid work arrangements to our team members.
How to apply
If you are a technical leader who thrives at the intersection of art and engineering, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your resume along with a portfolio that highlights your technical expertise and your history of solving complex problems in color engineering. We look forward to reviewing your application and discussing how your skills can help us elevate our animation pipeline.
