As the Cloud Architect, you will report to the Director of Software Architecture and continuously collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to solve the most critical technical problems.
You Will
- Own the architecture of the AWS & GCP cloud infrastructure at Allergan Data Labs.
- Drive standards of scale and security for the cloud environments that serve product engineering, marketing and data science teams.
- Architect secure standards for technology including but not limited to Networking, Serverless, Kubernetes, Access Management (IAM/Service Accounts), Secure CI/CD, Cloud Security and Application Security.
- Manage the alignment of infrastructure standards between security controls and empowering engineering.
- Create artifacts and documentation to drive knowledge sharing, adoption and execution of cloud architecture standards through an influence without authority model.
- Do hands on coding as-needed to build POCs when examples are needed.
- Partner with internal teams to provide and solicit architecture guidance, drive adoption of initiatives and transform them into actionable strategy.
- Be a part of an Infrastructure team composed of Cloud Engineers, Cloud Security, DevEx and DevOps engineers that service the wider engineering organization.
Required Experience & Technical Skills
- 8+ years experience in infrastructure, database and networking architecture with at least 4 years in AWS.
- Professional experience architecting, deploying and operating full scale solutions built on AWS (experience with GCP a plus).
- Experience with global scale infrastructure deployed with disaster recovery strategies.
- Proficient with CI/CD pipelines, shell scripting and instrumentation/monitoring solutions (ie, Datadog).
- Familiar with building infrastructure to support Microservices and Event Driven Architecture using Serverless, Lambda, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Proponent of infrastructure-as-code, least privilege access, observability and other DevOps best practices.
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks like PCI, HIPAA, SOX, NIST CSF etc.
