The role
We are looking for a Lead Cloud Architect to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This is a senior-level position where you will report directly to the Director of Software Architecture. You will serve as a technical leader, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to solve complex challenges and shape the future of our infrastructure.
Core responsibilities
- Take ownership of our AWS and GCP cloud infrastructure, ensuring it remains scalable, secure, and highly performant for our engineering, marketing, and data science teams.
- Define and implement architectural standards for critical technologies, including serverless computing, Kubernetes, networking, and secure CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop technical documentation and artifacts to promote knowledge sharing, guiding our engineering teams through an influence-based model while occasionally building hands-on proofs of concept.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a deep technical background and a collaborative mindset. We require the following qualifications:
- At least 8 years of professional experience in infrastructure, database, and networking architecture, with a minimum of 4 years specifically in AWS.
- Proven ability to architect and operate global-scale infrastructure with robust disaster recovery strategies.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, shell scripting, and monitoring tools like Datadog.
- Strong familiarity with microservices and event-driven architectures, including experience with Lambda, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- A commitment to DevOps best practices, such as infrastructure as code, observability, and the principle of least privilege.
- Experience working within software development or internet-focused industries, along with an understanding of compliance frameworks like HIPAA, PCI, and NIST.
- Fluency in English.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary range for this position is $126,000 to $239,000 USD. Beyond the salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth, including:
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- 401k retirement plan.
- Paid time off.
- Tuition reimbursement programs.
- The flexibility of a remote work environment.
