Role at a glance
We are looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position for someone with over a decade of experience who wants to take ownership of our digital health platform and help us scale our impact globally.
Your impact
- Design, build, and deploy high-performing backend services while collaborating closely with our product teams.
- Take full ownership of the operational health, security, and reliability of the systems you create.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team while championing best practices in system design.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you should be a seasoned engineer with a passion for building robust, scalable solutions. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 10 years of professional backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin, the Spring Framework, and working with relational databases.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes and event-driven architectures using tools like Kafka.
- A track record of shipping and maintaining high-traffic production systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Bonus points if you have experience with Azure, DevOps, Domain-Driven Design, or working within regulated healthcare environments.
