What you bring

We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to join our Developer Platform Team on a full-time basis. Based at our offices in the United States, specifically in the SF Bay Area or Los Angeles, you will guide the growth of our backend services and core mobile infrastructure. Your work will directly impact the tools used by developers to build immersive avatar experiences. You will be responsible for the following:

• Designing and maintaining high-performance, scalable backend services that support our mobile and web applications.
• Collaborating with cross-functional leaders in product and design to define our technical roadmap and execute our platform strategy.
• Leading infrastructure scaling efforts to ensure our systems remain robust and reliable as our user base grows.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess at least seven years of professional experience and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. We are looking for a self-starter who is comfortable working with Golang, Python, Java, or C++. You should have a strong background in NoSQL database design, API development, and cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform. Beyond your technical expertise, you must be a collaborative leader capable of mentoring team members, articulating complex risks to management, and maintaining a creative, analytical approach to solving difficult engineering problems.

What we offer
