The role
We are seeking a Junior Lab Technician to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to support our process development through hands-on experimentation, equipment maintenance, and rigorous sample preparation. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure our lab operations run smoothly and safely as we scale our technology.
Core responsibilities
- Execute experiments according to established test plans and assist the engineering team with data collection and analysis.
- Prepare metallurgical samples by cutting, epoxying, and polishing them for detailed characterization.
- Maintain the laboratory environment by organizing tools, troubleshooting equipment, performing routine repairs, and upholding strict safety protocols.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong analytical mindset and a commitment to precision. We require the following qualifications:
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or a related technical field.
- At least one year of hands-on experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience with Python or other programming languages is a plus.
- Knowledge of Engineering principles, Ray, and familiarity with metallurgical analysis tools like optical microscopy or X-ray diffraction is highly valued.
- A high level of attention to detail, particularly regarding experimental notes and lab organization.
