The role
We are looking for a Senior Lab Informatics Specialist to join our software engineering team on a full-time, remote basis. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can bridge the gap between our business partners and our technical development teams. You will play a critical part in supporting our laboratory operations and R&D units by ensuring our software products, including our LabVantage LIMS, are configured and utilized effectively to meet our organizational goals.
Core responsibilities
- Translate complex business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements to guide our development efforts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, facilitating communication between business stakeholders and technical teams through the creation of wireframes, data models, and flow diagrams.
- Provide hands-on support for system configuration, software testing, and the development of comprehensive user training materials.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this position, you should have a strong background in software product management and a passion for improving laboratory user experiences. We require the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 5 years of direct experience in software product management.
- Proven experience working with agile software teams and implementing LabVantage systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of software QA, project management, and issue tracking systems like Jira.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify technical complexities for diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of laboratory processes, instrumentation, and compliance requirements is highly valued.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $130,000 USD. Actual compensation is determined based on your specific experience, skill set, and certifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family, including:
