Junior Software Engineer at Pronto-ai

At Pronto, we are moving beyond the research and development phase that defines most autonomous vehicle companies. We are a global leader in commercializing autonomous technology, specifically through our Autonomous Haulage System that automates operations at mines and quarries. Our team is composed of Silicon Valley veterans with two decades of experience in the field, and we are currently on a clear path to becoming the world's first profitable company in the autonomous vehicle space. We are looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in an on-site capacity. In this role, you will bridge the gap between hardware and software, collaborating with our engineering teams to build robust solutions that keep our fleet of autonomous trucks running efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Automate the configuration and bring-up process for Linux devices.
• Develop scripts to facilitate hardware testing and create essential diagnostic and debugging tools.
• Manage and organize our device database while building dashboards to track device status and location.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is ready to tackle complex systems and thrives in environments where they can build scalable, maintainable code. You should possess the following qualifications:

• Previous experience through internships or similar software roles is highly encouraged.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Solid experience working within a Linux environment and using Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with AWS and experience interfacing with hardware are considered valuable assets.
• A keen interest in or prior experience with embedded software.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate ambiguous technical challenges with high attention to detail.

What we offer
