Junior PHP Developer at Pockee

At Pockee we build digital tools that help retailers and shoppers connect more efficiently, and we are expanding our engineering team to explore how multimodal AI can make those tools even smarter. We are inviting a motivated developer to join us in a fully remote position where you can strengthen your backend skills while learning how emerging AI technologies are reshaping modern applications.

About the Role

We are hiring a Junior PHP Developer on a full-time basis. In this position you will contribute to backend services that support both internal operations and customer-facing products, gaining hands-on experience with Laravel while discovering how large language models can be integrated into everyday development work.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using PHP and Laravel.
• Build and support RESTful APIs that power internal tools and customer applications.
• Write clean, documented code, participate in code reviews, and assist with debugging and quality assurance alongside senior developers.

Requirements

• One to two years of professional experience developing with PHP.
• Familiarity with Laravel or another modern MVC framework.
• Basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Experience working with MySQL or similar relational databases.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, either building or consuming them.
• Comfort using Git for version control.
• Strong interest in AI technologies and a willingness to learn how multimodal large language models integrate with backend systems.
• Proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning.
