Role at a glance
We are looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site position based in the United States, where you will play a critical role in aligning our core product technology with our compute and software infrastructure. You will work within an agile group to ensure our platforms remain reliable and industry-leading, reporting directly to the SVP of IT and InfoSec.
Your impact
- Take ownership of our Linux environment by serving as the subject matter expert while managing cross-platform systems including Windows and macOS.
- Design, configure, and orchestrate our High Performance Computing (HPC) architecture to support our next-generation sequencing development.
- Develop and maintain automated infrastructure processes and system management tools to ensure our cloud-facing models and internal operations run at peak performance.
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you should be a resourceful problem solver with a strong technical foundation. We require the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in architecture design and engineering for large Linux server environments and HPC setups.
- Deep expertise in Linux operating systems, such as Ubuntu, CentOS, or RHEL.
- At least 3 years of experience managing information security, OS-based cryptography, and edge protection protocols.
- At least 3 years of experience with network design, including firewalls, VPNs, and DHCP.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Perks and compensation
The estimated base salary range for this position is $121,400 to $159,100 USD. Final compensation is determined based on your specific qualifications, location, and market alignment. In addition to base pay, all employees are eligible for our variable cash programs, such as bonuses or commissions, and eligible roles may receive equity as part of their total compensation package.
