We are currently looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. At STR, we focus on advanced research and development for national security, defense, and intelligence. Our work spans critical areas like cyber defense, artificial intelligence, and next-generation sensor technology. As a member of our IT team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our staff has the tools and support they need to succeed in their mission-critical work.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective first-line technical support for our local, remote, and mobile employees by identifying, researching, and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Manage system administration tasks, including the creation and maintenance of Active Directory user accounts and the provisioning of new hardware for staff.
- Maintain our IT infrastructure by creating and testing system images for Windows 10 and Mac OSX, managing Linux accounts, and overseeing our inventory of hardware and software licenses.
Requirements
- You must hold a Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- We prefer candidates with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a technical support or helpdesk capacity.
- You should have hands-on experience supporting Windows 10, Linux, and Mac OSX environments.
- Proficiency with business and engineering applications such as Microsoft Office, Matlab, Visual Studio, and VMWare is highly valued.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills are essential, as is the ability to manage your time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications, such as Linux+, Security+, or Network+, are considered a plus.
