The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior IT Specialist to join our team in Burnaby, BC. This is a full-time, on-site role perfect for an experienced desktop administrator who thrives on providing high-quality technical support. You will be the face of our IT department, ensuring that both our local and remote employees have the tools they need to succeed. By joining us, you will not only provide front-line support but also play a key role in optimizing our service delivery and shaping the efficiency of our internal IT operations.
A day in the life
- Deliver white-glove technical support to our team, handling everything from hardware installations and software upgrades to troubleshooting networked devices and conference systems.
- Lead the IT onboarding process for new hires, providing system provisioning and comprehensive technology training to ensure everyone is ready to hit the ground running.
- Design and implement automated deployment solutions, such as scripting and Intune, to streamline how we manage and maintain our fleet of systems across different operating environments.
Who you are
You are a seasoned professional with a relevant technical degree or diploma and a deep understanding of modern computing environments. You communicate clearly in English and have a natural talent for customer service. Your background includes:
- A high degree of proficiency in Windows, MacOS, and Linux, with a strong command of the Linux command line.
- Solid experience with networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, and NTP.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar technology and manage IT assets with high organizational standards.
- A proactive mindset, with the flexibility to travel to remote sites or work outside of standard hours when the situation requires it.
