The New York Independent System Operator, or NYISO, is responsible for managing the efficient flow of electricity across more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines. We operate a reliable power system, manage competitive wholesale electricity markets, and plan for the future of energy in the Empire State. Our Information Technology department is currently looking for a full-time IT Service Operations Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity. This mid-level role is essential for maintaining our infrastructure and ensuring our systems remain secure and efficient.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement technical solutions on the ServiceNow platform to automate business processes and boost overall operational efficiency.
- Monitor the health and performance of the ServiceNow environment while troubleshooting complex technical issues and conducting root cause analysis.
- Manage platform security, including access controls and encryption, while overseeing all system upgrades and patches across our environments.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a commitment to high-quality service. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- At least four years of experience in a structured IT environment, including a minimum of two years specifically focused on ServiceNow administration and configuration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, and PowerShell.
- Experience working with front-end web frameworks like Angular, Bootstrap, and React, alongside solid skills in HTML and CSS.
- A ServiceNow Certified System Administrator credential is highly desired.
What we offer
We provide a competitive salary range of $78,500 to $131,000 USD. In addition to financial compensation, we support our employees with a hybrid work schedule that balances the flexibility of remote tasks with the collaborative energy of working together onsite in Rensselaer, New York.
