IT Manager at Coast

Coast is re-imagining the trillion-dollar U.S. B2B card payments infrastructure, with a focus on the country’s 500,000 commercial fleets, 10 million commercial vehicles, and 4 million commercial drivers. The incumbent technologies that cater to these customers are decades old, and drivers, fleets, and the merchants that serve them all increasingly demand modern digital experiences and affordable and transparent financial services products. Coast's mission is to deliver them at a transformational scale, and to improve working lives in one of the country’s biggest industry sectors. The company is backed by top fintech and mobility venture funds.

As Coast grows past 100 employees across two offices, we need a dedicated specialist to own and evolve our IT ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to pick the tools, define the processes, and implement them as the company grows around you. The role has a lot of leverage, and the successful candidate will be able to define their own roadmap and deliver on it.

We are hiring in NYC and the tri-state area only. Our NYC office is located in the heart of Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, benefiting from its vibrant creative energy. The whole company is in the office on average 4 days a week.

The IT Manager will:

• Drive down the daily helpdesk toil through automation and infrastructure improvements;
• Take care of office needs (New York City and Salt Lake City) - from A/V to Internet, from laptops to Wi-Fi;
• Own the MDM/laptop/mobile/OS stack for the whole workforce;
• Be responsible for IT vendors (from ISP to MSP, from MDM to VoIP) and their budgets;
• Own IT security and work with the compliance department;
• Shape the IT culture of the company.

The IT Manager must:

• Have 3-5+ years experience working in smaller companies, wearing multiple hats;
• Be familiar with enterprise Apple ecosystem;
• Be familiar with at least one MDM stack;
• Be familiar with at least one IdP stack (e.g. Okta);
• Be familiar with networking (e.g. VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, DNS);
• Be familiar with modern office productivity suites (e.g. Google Workspace);
• Enterprise Email infrastructure (deliverability, routing, reputation);
• Be able to automate their own work;
• Be pragmatic, get stuff done, and not be afraid to get their hands dirty;
• Be extremely diligent when it comes to operations and designing business processes;
• Have patience and take pride in providing excellent customer service (no BOFH!);
• Be able to work independently with little oversight in a fast-paced environment with high-energy colleagues.

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits, signing bonus, and equity. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Coast employees. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at Coast to fall healthily within the range based on these factors.

• Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 annually
