Kairos Power is a nuclear energy technology and engineering firm dedicated to accelerating the global transition to clean energy. We are focused on commercializing the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor to provide safe, affordable, and flexible power solutions. We are currently seeking a Senior IT Help Desk Technician II to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity. In this role, you will be the primary advocate for our end-users, ensuring that our hardware and core applications operate smoothly to support our mission-driven engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical support, managing requests through our ticketing system, phone, email, or in-person walk-ups.
- Diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues, including networking problems, hardware malfunctions, conference room equipment failures, and software errors.
- Build, configure, and maintain end-user devices such as laptops, desktops, and mobile hardware while creating helpful documentation to improve our self-service resources.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in IT support and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of recent, hands-on experience in an on-site, ticket-driven IT support environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of professional certifications and relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Windows 10, network concepts like DNS and DHCP, and general hardware administration.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly regulated industry.
- A service-oriented mindset with the ability to manage after-hours support on a rotating basis.
