IT Engineer at Redpanda Data

The role

We are seeking a Senior IT Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position available to candidates anywhere in the world. As our second IT engineer, you will play a foundational role in building our internal systems. We are looking for someone who applies an engineering mindset to technical challenges, prioritizing automation and scalable processes over manual work.

Core responsibilities

• Collaborate with our security and compliance teams to design, implement, and enforce organizational controls.
• Identify operational gaps and resolve them by selecting the right services or developing custom automated solutions.
• Enhance our endpoint security, patch management, and MDM strategies to support our globally distributed workforce.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience working as an IT engineer or system administrator.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell to automate workflows.
• Strong background in project management and driving initiatives to completion.
• Practical knowledge of SSO protocols like SAML and OIDC within enterprise environments.
• Experience managing and configuring endpoint security, as well as maintaining Apple, Linux, and Windows devices.
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work autonomously in a distributed team.
