Planned Parenthood Southeast (PPSE) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to providing high-quality, non-judgmental reproductive health care, education, and advocacy. Formed by the unification of affiliates in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi, we serve our communities by ensuring individuals have access to accurate information and preventive medical services. With a dedicated team of approximately 90 staff members and an annual operating budget of $11 million, we operate seven clinics that provide essential care to thousands of patients each year. We are currently seeking an experienced IT Director to lead our technological operations and ensure our systems remain secure, efficient, and aligned with our organizational objectives.
Key outcomes
- Direct the design, maintenance, and scalability of our IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, and software systems.
- Manage the full lifecycle of IT projects, including coordinating with third-party vendors and internal teams to meet organizational goals.
- Develop and enforce robust security policies to protect sensitive data, maintain disaster recovery plans, and ensure full HIPAA compliance.
- Oversee the IT department budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and strategic investments in new technology.
- Provide technical leadership and support to end-users while fostering a culture of excellent customer service.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the technical proficiency of our staff.
- Evaluate vendor performance and manage contract negotiations to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in systems administration, network administration, database administration, or vendor management.
- A strong foundation in cybersecurity principles, IT infrastructure, and modern operating systems.
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate teams, delegate effectively, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align IT strategies with broader organizational goals.
- Proficiency in project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Fluency in English.
- The ability to travel up to 25% of the time to locations within Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience specifically related to HIPAA compliance and the protection of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or ITIL.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a benefits package that includes remote work flexibility and opportunities for professional development.
