Welcome to Thistle. Since 2013, we have been on a mission to make healthy living simple while fostering a more sustainable food system. We deliver delicious, plant-forward meals, snacks, and cold-pressed juices directly to our customers, helping them improve their personal health and the health of our planet. Having delivered over 20 million meals across the country, we are proud to have been recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the Bay Area and honored by Inc. for our commitment to sustainability. We are now looking for a dedicated professional to join our team and help us continue this growth.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior IT Administrator to join us in a full-time capacity. This is a hybrid position that serves as a vital resource for our remote workforce and our physical production facilities. You will report directly to our Director of Engineering, taking ownership of IT responsibilities that are currently managed by external vendors. Because we operate production facilities in Vacaville, California, and Burlington, New Jersey, you will be expected to work on-site at one of these locations on a weekly basis.
What will you do?
- Take full ownership of our hardware fleet, including procurement, provisioning for new hires, and troubleshooting devices like Mac and Windows laptops and iPads.
- Manage our core software ecosystem, including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and Dropbox, by overseeing user onboarding, offboarding, and configuration.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical support, helping employees resolve hardware issues, navigate software challenges, and manage on-premise equipment like printers, security cameras, and wireless networks.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should be a proactive problem solver with extensive experience in IT administration. We value candidates who are comfortable working in a customer-oriented environment and who possess the following qualities:
- Proven hands-on experience managing IT infrastructure and hardware.
- Strong proficiency with Mac and Windows environments, along with experience using VPNs.
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on coaching employees and creating clear documentation to help others solve problems independently.
- The ability to travel to our facilities as needed, including weekly on-site work and occasional travel to out-of-state locations.
- A high level of organization and the ability to manage multiple projects while coordinating with third-party vendors.
What's in it for you?
We believe in supporting our employees so they can do their best work. As part of our team, you will enjoy the following benefit:
- Hybrid work flexibility to balance your time between home and our production facilities.
