Internship Student Remote Data Engineering Engineering Ruby on Rails Java Kotlin React Angular AWS RDS Aurora SQS SNS S3 Kafka English Remote work

Wealthsimple builds technology that simplifies investing and banking for millions of Canadians, managing more than $40 billion in assets across over three million users. We are offering a remote software development internship lasting four to eight months, open to co-op students, non-co-op students, and recent graduates.

Responsibilities

Contribute code to production microservices that power our financial products.
Work within small, autonomous teams that ship updates multiple times per day.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and operations to deliver features that directly benefit clients.
Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and continuous deployment practices.
Take ownership of projects from initial planning through successful release.

Must-haves

Currently enrolled as a student or a recent graduate.
Comfortable writing code in at least one of Ruby on Rails, Java, Kotlin, React, or Angular.
Familiar with cloud infrastructure concepts and services such as AWS, RDS, Aurora, SQS, SNS, S3, or Kafka.
Fluent in English.
Self-directed learner who enjoys tackling new technical challenges.
Available to work remotely from anywhere.

Nice-to-haves

Experience with data engineering patterns or streaming platforms.
Prior contributions to large-scale production systems.
Interest in financial technology and inclusive product design.
