Wealthsimple builds technology that simplifies investing and banking for millions of Canadians, managing more than $40 billion in assets across over three million users. We are offering a remote software development internship lasting four to eight months, open to co-op students, non-co-op students, and recent graduates.
Responsibilities
- Contribute code to production microservices that power our financial products.
- Work within small, autonomous teams that ship updates multiple times per day.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and operations to deliver features that directly benefit clients.
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and continuous deployment practices.
- Take ownership of projects from initial planning through successful release.
Must-haves
- Currently enrolled as a student or a recent graduate.
- Comfortable writing code in at least one of Ruby on Rails, Java, Kotlin, React, or Angular.
- Familiar with cloud infrastructure concepts and services such as AWS, RDS, Aurora, SQS, SNS, S3, or Kafka.
- Fluent in English.
- Self-directed learner who enjoys tackling new technical challenges.
- Available to work remotely from anywhere.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with data engineering patterns or streaming platforms.
- Prior contributions to large-scale production systems.
- Interest in financial technology and inclusive product design.
