What you bring
As an Intermediate Back End Developer, you will join us in a full-time capacity to design and maintain the robust systems that power our platform. We operate with a remote-first mindset, welcoming applicants from anywhere, though we also offer hybrid options in Ottawa, ON. Your role will focus on high-impact engineering, where you will be expected to:
- Develop and scale our core services using Ruby on Rails.
- Design, refine, and maintain high-performance GraphQL APIs.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ship features that directly enhance the experience for practitioners and patients.
Requirements
We are looking for a software engineer who takes pride in writing clean, test-driven, and maintainable code. You should have solid experience with Ruby on Rails and a deep understanding of how to build efficient GraphQL APIs. Success in this role requires a systems-thinking mindset, as you will need to understand how backend services scale and evolve under high-volume traffic. We value candidates who communicate effectively in English and thrive in a highly collaborative environment. While not strictly required, experience with React or a background in healthcare innovation is considered a significant asset.
