At Ownwell, we are on a mission to make property ownership more transparent and equitable for everyone. We have built proprietary software that identifies where homeowners are overpaying on expenses, and we are now expanding that vision through our new Insurance Division. Our goal is to help people manage their real estate with confidence by providing the tools and resources they need to secure the best possible rates. As a venture-backed company that has seen our customer base grow by over 1000% year-over-year, we are looking for passionate individuals to join our collaborative team and help us change the way homeowners across the United States manage their properties.
The role
We are seeking a Senior Insurance Agent to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. As our first in-house insurance producer, you will play a foundational role in shaping our insurance offerings. This is a high-impact position for a self-starter who is excited to build processes from the ground up while working closely with our sales, marketing, product, and engineering teams to develop innovative tools that provide real value to our customers.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and bind new business with carriers while advising clients on risk management and policy details.
- Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to identify opportunities for software development and automation.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships to ensure high retention and provide ongoing support.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in the insurance industry and a drive for sales excellence. We require the following qualifications:
- A valid Texas Property and Casualty insurance license.
- At least 3 years of insurance brokerage sales experience with a proven track record.
- Deep knowledge of the Property and Casualty marketplace, products, and services.
- Strong technical proficiency, including experience with CRM systems, carrier portals, and rater platforms.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Fluency in English.
Compensation and benefits
We believe in supporting our team members both personally and professionally. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Medical insurance coverage for you and your family.
- Flexible hours and paid time off, including 11 company holidays and a company-wide recharge week at the end of the year.
- A $1,000 annual learning budget to support your professional development.
- Access to the First Round Network to help you build your professional community.
- Support for new parents through 16 weeks of fully paid parental and bonding leave.
- Coverage for applicable real estate and tax consulting licensing and renewal fees.
How to apply
If you are a goal-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us with your application to join our team as we continue to innovate and grow within the real estate and insurance sectors.
