Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role based in the United States. You will be expected to work from our San Francisco office at 580 California Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the flexibility to work from home for the remainder of the week.
Your impact
- Take ownership of scaling and maintaining the infrastructure for a top 500 web property.
- Manage and optimize databases containing hundreds of terabytes of data.
- Champion and implement robust security practices as our organization continues to grow.
What you'll need
We are looking for a mission-driven engineer with a strong background in production environments. You should be comfortable working across the stack and excited about the challenges of large-scale infrastructure.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software production environments, including 2+ years supporting large-scale web infrastructure.
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep expertise in AWS and Linux.
- Proficiency with configuration management tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, EKS, or ECS.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Bonus points for: Experience with Ruby on Rails monoliths, observability tools like Datadog, network security, data warehousing, and security certification processes.
Perks and compensation
The targeted first-year cash compensation for this position is $150,000 to $180,000 USD, depending on your specific experience and expertise.
