Infrastructure Engineer at Numeus

The role

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our cloud-based systematic trading infrastructure. You will also build the tools necessary to accelerate our research capabilities. We need someone with a strong background in software development tools, production management, and cloud tooling, specifically within a systematic trading environment.

Core responsibilities

• Design, manage, and maintain our production, research, and trading infrastructure across various cloud regions.
• Enhance our low-latency systematic trading compute and network infrastructure for optimal performance.
• Support intensive research computing and modeling workloads by building resilient, auto-scaling clusters that prioritize efficient hardware utilization.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this position, you should have at least 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, preferably within the buy-side systematic trading sector. We require the following qualifications:

• Proven production experience with cloud technologies, specifically AWS.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, including managing large auto-scaling clusters and highly available services, alongside experience with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Comprehensive hands-on experience with Linux, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Mastery of Terraform and a strong commitment to Infrastructure as Code, complemented by experience with automation tools like Ansible.
• Practical knowledge of the full network stack, including TCP/IP, UDP, routing protocols, VPN technologies, and user-space kernel bypass networking.
• Proficiency with monitoring frameworks such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and the ability to travel periodically between our offices in New York, London, and Zug.

Compensation and benefits

The base salary for this position is between $125,000 and $200,000. Actual compensation is determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to the base salary, we offer the following benefits:
