What you bring
We are looking for an Infrastructure Architect to join our Cloud Infrastructure team on a full-time, remote basis. In this executive-level role you will design and deliver a highly available, distributed, and secure platform that supports all applications built on the Veeva Vault Platform. Your work will focus on immutability across application and storage layers, containerization of backend services, and the use of technologies such as AWS EC2, IAM, Route 53, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, S3, EBS, and VPC. You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Development teams, optimize existing infrastructure, and own every stage of feature implementation from design through production support.
- Design and build systems that are scalable, highly available, and easily maintainable.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Development team members on technical design and problem-solving to deliver compelling solutions to complex challenges.
- Optimize and improve existing infrastructure, architecture, and processes to take full advantage of cloud platforms.
This position is open to candidates located anywhere.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings more than twelve years of commercial software development experience in an object-oriented language such as Java, C#, or Go, along with current hands-on programming experience across a wide range of AWS services including EC2, IAM, Route 53, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, Elastic Container Service, S3, EBS, VPC, Security Groups, and EKS. You will also have practical experience with open-source technologies such as Spring, Gradle, Git, Jenkins, JUnit, Tomcat, and Linux, as well as scripting in Linux Shell and Python. Familiarity with immutable infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code patterns using Docker, Ansible, Packer, Vagrant, and the AWS SDK for Java is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, and we value mentors who have a proven record of elevating their teams. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is expected.
What we offer
The base salary range for this role is $200,000 to $300,000, with additional compensation opportunities that may include variable bonus and stock bonus. We provide medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, paid time off and company-paid holidays, retirement programs including a 401k, and a 1 percent charitable giving program. As a Work Anywhere company, this role supports fully remote work from any location.
