What is this role?

We are searching for a Senior Information Security Support SME to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a high-level role for an experienced professional who is ready to take on complex security challenges and provide expert guidance within the information security discipline.

What will you do?

• You will conduct thorough security reviews of various documents and manuscripts to identify potential classified information and track any unauthorized disclosures through detailed metrics.
• You will serve as a key collaborator, working alongside original classification authorities and the DoD Office of the General Counsel to manage inquiries, conduct damage assessments, and determine if further legal or investigative action is necessary.
• You will play an active role in policy development by drafting, coordinating, and staffing important security actions, as well as preparing official correspondence for Congress and the Information Security Oversight Office.

To succeed in this position, you should have a strong background in security policy and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of information protection. We require the following qualifications:

• An active TS/SCI Security Clearance is mandatory for this role.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, ideally in information security or a related field.
• At least 5 years of specialized experience in security policy, specifically within the DoD or the Defense Intelligence Enterprise.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to independently draft and staff complex actions across various high-level departments like the Joint Staff, DIA, and OSD.
• A deep understanding of security functions such as insider threats, operations security, and SCI or SAP policies.
• Fluency in English is required.

While not required, we would be particularly impressed if you have experience with the CFIUS process, including briefing leadership and identifying trends in company purchasing patterns. Experience working with OUSD(I&S) is also highly preferred.
